- USB cable included in the kit. If the USB cable is missing you can use any USB to Mini USB cable.
- Internet connection (for software and file downloads)
Download the appropriate firmware and configuration file for your GNSS receiver model.

Note: The Arrow GNSS receiver does NOT need to be tracking satellites to upgrade the firmware.
- Connect the Arrow GNSS receiver to your Windows PC using the USB cable.
- Power on the Arrow GNSS receiver.
Windows will automatically assign the Arrow device a COM port number. The number varies from computer to computer but is commonly assigned to COM port 3.
- Open Windows Device Manager.
How to open Windows Device Manager.
Windows 10/11
- Right click on the Start Menu.
- Click Device Manager.
Windows Vista/7/8
- Open the Start Menu.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Click Devices.
- Click Device Manager.
- Scroll down to then expand the Ports section.
- Look for an entry labeled Eos GNSS Receiver or something similar.
If the Arrow Receiver does not show up under the Ports section in Device Manager, you will need to install the Arrow USB Driver: Arrow USB Driver see Additional Troubleshooting for instructions on installing the USB driver.
- The COM port will be labeled in the parenthesis.

- Note the COM port for use in the rest of the instructions.
Example: Eos GNSS Receiver(COM3)
The baud rate of the USB port on the Arrow must be set to 19200. If the Arrow is or was used as a base station or had it's configuration modified for other purposes the baud rate may be set to another value. Use the Eos Utility Program to set the baud rate to 19200. see Additional Troubleshooting for instructions on changing the baud rate
- Run the RightArm program.
- Click Receiver > Connect.
- Select the COM port assigned to the Arrow device.
- Leave all other settings default.

- Click OK.
- Click Receiver > Program.
- In the popup window, Click the Select File button.
- Browse to & select the Arrow firmware file downloaded in the Firmware & Configuration Files section above.

- Click the Erase and Program button and wait for the process to finish.
- Click Close then exit the RightArm program.
- Power off the Arrow. Press and hold the power button until all LEDs are off.
- Power on the Arrow. Press and hold the power button until the red power LED is on.
- Run the Eos Utility program.
- Set the Port to the COM port discovered in the determine the COM port section.
- Set the Baud Rate to 19200.

- Click the Connect button and wait for the next prompt.
- Click the Quick Config button.

- Click File > Load Configuration File.
- Browse to and select the Arrow configuration file downloaded in the Firmware & Configuration Files section above.
- Once the configuration is finished, click Disconnect.
- Verify the firmware is updated in the About tab.
- Close Eos Utiltity and click Save + Disconnect

- Close the Eos Utility program.
- Reset the USB baud rate on the Arrow to the original value pre-firmware update if needed.
- Power off the Arrow.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the Arrow and the Windows PC.
If the Arrow Receiver does not show up under the Ports section in Device Manager, you will need to install the Arrow USB Driver.
- Download the Arrow USB Driver from the Eos webpage: Arrow USB Driver.
- Unzip the driver from the compressed folder.
- Run the Driver Installation Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions and click Finish
- Plug the Arrow back into to the PC and continue the firmware updating process above: Flash the Firmware.
If you have problems connecting the Arrow to RightArm. The issue could be that the baud rate is set to something other than 19200. Follow the steps below to set it correctly for the firmware upgrade process.
- Follow the Setup Steps.
- Run the Eos Utility program.
- Set the Port to the COM port discovered in the determine the COM port section.
- Set the Mode to Auto-Baud and wait for the program to find the correct baud rate.
- Click the Quick Config button.
- Click on the USB [THIS] tab.
- Select the Baud Rate row.
- Set the baud rate value to 19200 in the drop down menu at the bottom.

- Click File > Save Settings.
- Click File > Exit.
- Click Disconnect + Save.
